WaterMist Fire Suppression Systems

WaterMist

High-Pressure WaterMist for effective Fire Suppression.

Sovereign Extinguishing install and maintain High-Pressure WaterMist systems for industrial applications.

We consult with you to commission effective Fire Suppression Systems tailored to each unique location and requirement.

How Do High-Pressure WaterMist Systems Work?

High-Pressure WaterMist systems extinguish fires by the rapid cooling of surface areas and reduction of Oxygen at the flame front.
Water expands up to 1700 times in the phase transition from water to steam in the presence of heat, diluting the amount of Oxygen available for combustion reactions, therefore extinguishing fire.

Speed of heat absorption depends on surface area and not on volume, thus small water mist droplets provide rapid heat absorption as they represent a large combined surface area.

How is High-Pressure WaterMist Dispersed?

The fire detection and actuation system can be the same for High-Pressure WaterMist as with Gas Suppression Systems, however water systems present more challenging storage requirements. Distilled water can be contained in cylinders and powered with separate Nitrogen cylinders, or it can be supplied via a tank and pump assembly. In either case, the operating pressure is around 100 Bar, and the time that the system runs for can be engineered to customer requirements.
